[Sightseeing in Battambang, Cambodia's second largest city, by Staff Member Inoue]

I was busy during the New Year holidays in 2026, and after that, I rented a motorbike and went sightseeing in Battambang, Cambodia's second largest city, from January 5th to 6th.

I went there.

I headed from Siem Reap to Battambang by motorbike, and what surprised me was that while driving on National Highway 6, the speed limit was 80 km/h, even though it was a regular national highway.

And the place I aimed for was Phnom Sampoh.

There are statues and other things carved into the cliffs that are worth seeing.

Of course, Buddha statues


There are also statues of the Buddha carved into the cliffs. It's a sight to behold.



This place is also famous for its bat cave, and after evening, large numbers of bats emerge from the cracks in the cave, as shown in the video below.
